New on-air design

The 3sat TV magazine Kulturzeit has been broadcasting from a new HD studio with a new backdrop since the beginning of 2016. Within the framework of the studio’s completely new design, we were responsible for developing the entire screen design – from all on-air modules and individual fade-in formats via the templates for the screening of the areas within the studio, to the adaptations for print, online and social media.

The design was developed for both the main ‘Kulturzeit’ programme and the modified programme formats ‘Kulturzeit News’, ‘Kulturzeit Kompakt’ and ‘Kulturzeit Extra’.

Screen design and studio – perfectly harmonised.

The core element of the new screen design is the design of all the on-air elements. These fit seamlessly into the set and harmonise perfectly with the previous, established Kulturzeit screen design.

Customisable colour worlds

The new screen design is based on three different colour worlds. The main colour world is petrol, which is strongly oriented on the previous screen design, plus the alternative colour worlds of lilac and yellow.

Versatile, combinable modular system

The complete system is optimised for daily use at working level. The basic design modules form the basis for all the screen design elements, such as individual background images, openers for headings, topic previews, external format integration, and all inserts such as superimposed texts, credits and subtitles.

The editorial team thus has a simple and effective graphical solution for the continuous further development of the broadcasting elements.
